Film Marketing Be Original
Singular marketing allows your film to pierce the envelope of
the overcrowded market and stand out from the rest. Whether
you are looking for financing, distribution or both the film
must be marketed. To successfully market the film, we encourage
our clients to go through several exercises. These exercises
help the filmmaker understand the mindset of their target audience.
Marketing 101 teaches that if you think everyone is your customer,
no one is your customer. Films must be marketed to a specific
audience with a specific need and want. Understanding singular
marketing is a key to being original in the film industry.
Market Effectively
As a filmmaker, if you don't market effectively you run the
risk of getting lost in the noise. Having the right publicity
plan can make a difference between a film that everyone wants
to see and a film orphan with no distribution deal sitting on
the shelf. We are experts at marketing your film with a specific
plan in mind. Sometimes a filmmaker has several different projects
to market. We help our clients focus on which projects need
to be produced first and which projects take a back seat. Right
from the start, we eliminate films that end up on a shelf because
we are able to decipher what works and what doesn't.
We Know What Sells
Art versus the industry is a dilemma facing filmmakers trying
to obtain funding or distribution. As a filmmaker, your idea
of what should be presented may be entirely different from what
actually sells. It doesn't mean your film project is bad or
you are entirely wrong if you have a different idea from what
sells. But, from a sales perspective the film may need to have
some minor changes in order to capture the specific audience
required in order to get the film financed and/or distributed.
